Hail Repair FAQs
Hail-Free Means Financial Freedom!
What is paintless dent repair (PDR)?
Paintless dent repair (PDR) is a specialized technique used to remove dents from your vehicle's body without affecting the original factory paint. Skilled technicians use specialized tools to gently massage the dents out from behind the panel, restoring the metal to its original shape.
Because there's no sanding, filling, or repainting involved, PDR preserves your vehicle's factory finish — which is the highest-quality paint your car will ever have. It's faster, more affordable, and better for your vehicle's long-term value than traditional bodyshop repairs.
Will filing a hail claim raise my insurance premium?
No, filing a hail claim will not raise your insurance premium. Hail damage is considered an "Act of Nature" or "Comprehensive Claim," and by law, these kinds of claims cannot influence your individual insurance rates. However, if a large number of claims are filed in a particular area due to a significant event, such as a severe hailstorm, insurance rates may increase collectively as a result.
At Hail Center, we recommend consulting with your insurance provider for a thorough understanding of your policy's stipulations regarding hail damage claims.
Why choose PDR over a bodyshop?
Multiple factors make PDR a superior choice:
1. No Subcontracting
Bodyshops often outsource to PDR technicians, essentially profiting from your claim without having any direct involvement in the repair process. This can risk quality as your vehicle's repairs could be compromised due to cost-sharing between the shop and the PDR technician.
2. No Use of Bondo
Traditional bodyshops might use an excessive amount of Bondo (a type of body filler) which simply fills in the dents without truly repairing them. This not only masks the problem but also adds significant weight to your vehicle as Bondo is quite heavy.
3. Preserving Factory Paint
The original factory paint job on your vehicle is typically the highest quality it'll ever have! With PDR, we avoid repainting as much as possible to maintain that original pristine finish.
4. Time-Efficiency
The PDR process is considerably quicker compared to what most bodyshops can offer (unless they are subcontracting). You get to save time and get your vehicle back faster.
How do I know if my vehicle has hail damage?
The easiest way to know for sure is to bring your vehicle in for a free hail inspection at Hail Center. Some hail dents are obvious, but many are subtle and only visible under the right lighting — meaning they can easily be missed in a quick once-over.
Our trained technicians will carefully evaluate your vehicle, identify every dent (no matter how small), and give you an honest assessment of the damage. There's no obligation, and the inspection costs you nothing.
Call us at (417) 386-2500 or schedule your free inspection online.
What dent sizes can PDR fix? Are there limits?
PDR can repair a wide range of dent sizes, but every vehicle is different. Factors like the location of the dent, the depth, whether the paint is cracked, and the type of metal all play a role in determining what's possible.
Rather than guessing, we evaluate each vehicle individually during our free inspection. In most cases, we're able to repair hail damage with paintless dent repair — but if a dent is beyond what PDR can address, we'll let you know up front and walk you through your options.

How long do repairs take?
The duration of repairs largely depends on the extent of the damage, the availability of your insurance company to evaluate the damages in conjunction with our workshop, and the arrival time for any necessary parts for your vehicle. On average, we anticipate the entire process from start to finish to take about 3–4 weeks.
Do you offer a warranty on your repairs?
Yes! At Hail Center, we stand behind our work with a lifetime warranty on our paintless dent repairs. We're confident in the quality of our craftsmanship, and this warranty is our promise to you that the repair will hold up for the life of your vehicle.
Do you provide a loaner or rental car during repairs?
We do not provide loaner vehicles directly. However, many comprehensive insurance policies include rental car coverage, which can be used during your hail repair. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to see what your policy covers — and our team is happy to help you navigate the process.
When can I schedule my vehicle in for a repair?

Why should I get my hail damage fixed?
Ensuring prompt repair of hail damage to your vehicle sustains its condition and value for several reasons:
1. Preserving Resale Value: Hail damage can significantly reduce the market value of your automobile, making it challenging to sell or trade it in at a dealership.
2. No Impact on Premiums: Contrary to common misconception, your insurance premium will not increase due to filing a claim for hail damage.
3. Preventing Rust: If hail has cracked the paint on your car, rust can develop over time if the damage goes untreated.
4. Insurance Coverage: With the right insurance policy, much of the cost of hail repair may be covered — making it easier than you might think to get your vehicle back to its original condition.
How much does hail repair cost without insurance?
Hail repair pricing without insurance varies widely depending on the number of dents, their size, and the panels affected. Because every vehicle's damage is unique, we provide estimates on a case-by-case basis after evaluating the vehicle in person.
Bring your vehicle in for a free inspection and we'll give you a clear, honest estimate — with no pressure and no obligation.
Can you help with my deductible?
